TIM grew up in a family that stressed the importance of being involved in what God was doing. It was early on in childhood that he felt God speaking to him to work with kids and calling him towards foreign missions. Tim took his first missions trip at 16 years old to Jamaica to build a church and hold nightly crusades. Despite his young age, he led that team's childrens ministry outreach for the Jamaican children and something clicked, "this is what he was supposed to do". He went on to graduate from North Central University with his Bachelor’s in Children’s Ministry and continued working in the intercity bilingual church in St. Paul where he had volunteered throughout college.  In his 18 years at Templo de Fe Assembly of God he was their childrens pastor, music pastor and associate pastor. During that time he met his beautiful wife and they had their first child, Estrella. Around the time they were expecting their 2nd daughter they felt God calling them to be involved in a church that was closer to their home so they could have a more direct impact on their neighborhood. They attended and then started working at Community Vineyard Church.  Tim and Jocelyn enjoyed leading their church in worship and Tim didn’t mind preaching to give their pastor an occasional break. Tim also worked full time outside the church managing a credit union.  When friends would ask him what he wanted to be when he grew up (and even as an adult) he would plainly say, "I would love to work at an orphanage in Mexico".  Without fully realizing it, God was shaping his future with his love for working with kids, passion for multiethnic worship, communicating in Spanish and learning how to deal with the ups and downs of management.
