JOCELYN was raised by her single mother who hadn’t known of God’s plan of redemption until Jocelyn was 7.  When Jocelyn’s mom surrendered to her Creator their whole world turned upside down. Jocelyn saw the incredible difference in their life and surrendered hers as well. Jocelyn remembers meeting a passionate missionary working in the villages of Mexico.  His stories planted a seed that she recorded in her Teen Study Bible, “When I grow up I want to be a mom and a missionary to Mexico”.  She had a dream as a 10 year old that an angel appeared at the back of her church and the angel said, “Tell your mom to go to Mexico”. The next morning, as she was sitting in the bathroom watching her mom put her makeup on she shared her dream.  Her mom burst into tears because what Jocelyn didn’t know is that her mom had the same burden to go to Mexico but could not see how it would work for a single mom and her daughter especially when they were living less than paycheck to paycheck.  God miraculously provided the funds and at 11 years old Jocelyn and her mom were on a plane to visit that missionary and his family in the villages of Mexico. The seed was planted.  That missionary ended up starting a home for abandoned youth and Jocelyn at 14 years old went down to Mexico for the summer to help them get ready.  It is the same youth home that she returned to as an adult and went through a summer of ministry training a year before she met Tim.  God met her in a powerful way that summer and she was planning on returning when she met Tim and that plan got delayed for a while.  She continued to pursue her passion for worship and started working with two organizations that empowered women from trafficking and slavery.  God was indeed shaping her destiny and desires to help bring freedom to injustice and to be His light to dark places.
